Construction Materials Specialist

Veldon Sallee is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of construction materials on our projects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct field testing and sampling of soils, concrete, and asphalt materials to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Prepare and submit daily reports, documenting inspection observations and test results to project stakeholders.
- Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate testing and inspection.
- Perform basic math calculations, including addition, division, percentage, and fractions, to analyze test results.
- Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and project personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
- Valid driver's license and ability to transport company vehicles.
- Ability to read and interpret test standards, safety rules, technical procedures, and manuals.
- Maturity and effective communication skills to interact with diverse groups of people.
- Proficiency in basic writing and mathematical concepts, including percentage, ratios, multiplication, and length/width/height/depth equations.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, climbing, crawling, and balancing.
- Prior inspection certifications and basic computer literacy are a plus.
- Able to provide own transportation to and from work.
- Compliance with a drug-free workplace policy.
