About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in North Aurora, Illinois.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate angiographic and ultrasound equipment to perform basic to advanced procedures on inpatients and outpatients.
  • Assist with interventional and surgical procedures as a scrub assistant, working seamlessly with attending and resident physicians.
  • Monitor patients and alert staff of life-threatening changes in patient status, applying the defibrillator and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation when required.
  • Identify and process images, ensuring they are of diagnostic quality, and assist clinical engineering staff in evaluating digital equipment to maintain consistent image quality.
  • Compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure ordered exam accuracy, post-process images as directed, and accurately identify and label images.
  • Maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, documenting billing codes of procedures performed.
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and/or preceptor for students and staff, acting as a resource to staff at own facility and throughout the system.
  • Facilitate clinical problem solving and collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients after procedures and imaging department processes and procedures.
  • Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), to be obtained within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), to be obtained within 6 months, unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in an Interventional Radiologic Technologist role.
