About the Role

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Mechanic - Egress System Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing organizational, intermediate, and limited depot level maintenance on F-16 aircraft, components, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance tasks on F-16 aircraft, including inspection, operational testing, repair, modification, and troubleshooting.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to other employees as needed.
  • Maintain assigned aircraft in accordance with Navy, Air Force, manufacturer, and company distributor specifications.
  • Responsible for all egress system maintenance on and off equipment for F-16 aircraft.
  • Remove, transport, inspect, repair, and reinstall F-16 ejection seats.
  • Inspect, repair, and clean seat harnesses.
  • Inventory, store, remove, and replace seat CAD/PAD explosive items.
  • Maintain environmental systems on F-16 aircraft.
  • Maintain and inspect canopy explosive devices on F-16 aircraft.
  • Maintain and inspect on-board oxygen generating systems (OBOGS) or liquid oxygen (LOX).
  • Perform aircraft scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on and off equipment.
  • Perform aircraft corrosion control procedures, including washing, wiping down, polishing, and vacuuming.
  • Operate ground support equipment, flight line vehicles, and other support equipment as required.
  • Drive tugs for towing equipment and aircraft.
  • Annotate maintenance actions in aircraft forms and VIDS/MAF systems.
  • Order aircraft/equipment parts.
  • Supervise/assist in aircraft/equipment movement and flight line foreign object prevention walks.
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years' recent experience in ejection seat maintenance and two (2) years' recent egress system repair experience.
  • Must have F-16 aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Shall be a graduate of the Air Force F-16A/B/C or D Aircrew Egress System Specialist Technical School T/M/S or factory equivalent ejection seat course of instruction.
  • Shall be qualified on ground support equipment applicable to the specialty.
  • Shall be familiar with Navy technical publications.
  • Valid State Driver's License.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, instructions, and special tools and test equipment.
  • Previous Military must provide Member 4 DD214 with Honorable Discharge.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Must be able to work all assigned shifts and schedules.
  • Formal/Specialized Training or Equivalent.

  • Hazardous Waste Communication Training.
  • FOD and TCP Awareness Trained.
  • Security Clearance Awareness Training.
  • COMNAVAIRFORINST Program Awareness.
  • ISO Program Awareness.
  • NALCOMIS/OOMA or Air Force Aircraft Maintenance Management system.
  • ESD Trained.
  • Support Equipment Operator's License (Tow Tractor, N2 Servicing Trailer, and Mobile Start Unit at a minimum).
  • Collateral Duty Inspector (in 2 T/M/S aircraft).
  • Egress System Checkout.
  • Non-Nuclear Ordnance Explosive Handling Certified.
  • Plane Captain Qualified.
  • Aircraft Towing Certified.
  • Aircraft Brake Rider Certified.
  • Operational Risk Management (ORM) Training.
  • Fuel Surveillance Trained, Engine Run (1 T/M/S minimum) Troubleshooter/Final Checker Certified.
