We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coding and Billing Analyst to join our team at Yale School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the efficiency and accuracy of capturing, coding, and processing all billable services for our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Regularly review billing activity and provide comprehensive summaries of findings to administration, physicians, and coders.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize provider reimbursement and improve collections.
- Collaborate with clinical departments, revenue cycle services, and compliance departments to resolve issues around claims that are rejected, not responded to, or underpaid.
- Research and communicate changes in payer policies and maintain regular interactions with third-party payers.
- Perform coding audits, assess risk, and communicate findings to ensure compliance with University, governmental, and third-party regulations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or RN with four years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current CPC certification required, with knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes, medical terminology, and HIPAA regulations.
- Expert proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as experience with electronic health records and practice application systems.
- Epic experience strongly preferred.
