Job Title: Crane Operator

Wells is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating specialized machinery, including telescope booms, Mi-Jack shuttle lifts, and overhead cranes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate crane equipment, including telescope booms, Mi-Jack shuttle lifts, and overhead cranes.
  • Calculate Load Capacity: Determine the weight of items to be moved in relation to the maximum capacity of the crane based on manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect Work Areas: Inspect clearances, overhead lines, and other possible obstructions to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform Maintenance: Inspect and assess ground conditions to ensure the crane can be set up safely, and perform necessary repairs or maintenance.
  • Comply with Safety Regulations: Comply with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain logs and records of operation activities.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Physical Demands: The employee is required to stand, sit, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Work Environment: The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, and will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
