Soliant is seeking a skilled and compassionate School-Based Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to students within the school environment. The ideal candidate will help students develop and enhance their daily living skills, fine motor abilities, and overall participation in academic and social activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities to develop individualized therapy plans.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students with various needs, including sensory integration, motor coordination, and adaptive skills training.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, school staff, and parents to integrate therapy goals into students' educational programs and support their active participation in school activities.
- Program Development: Design and implement individualized therapy programs that align with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support their academic and social development.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, therapy sessions, and evaluations. Prepare reports and documentation in compliance with school and state requirements.
- Consultation: Provide guidance and training to school staff and parents on strategies to support students with occupational needs and promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Compliance: Adhere to all federal and state regulations, as well as school policies and procedures related to occupational therapy services.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Valid state licensure in Occupational Therapy required.
- Experience: Experience working as an occupational therapist in a school setting is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with special education laws and regulations, as well as best practices in school-based occupational therapy.
