Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Office Manager/Social Ministries Coordinator at The Salvation Army Eastern Territory. This position will be responsible for providing administrative support to the corps officers and managing the day-to-day operations of the office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview clients, assess their needs, and make referrals to other area agencies as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including statistical information.
  • Ensure the front office and food pantry are organized and stocked, and comply with local and Salvation Army standards.
  • Liaise with external personnel, including food banks, United Way, and other community organizations.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Promote the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
  • Manage the daily operations of the food pantry and soup kitchen, including inventory management and ordering food from vendors.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, handle client inquiries, and provide information and referrals as needed.
  • Assist in the coordination of social services programs, including youth camp, adopt a family, angel tree, and back-to-school assistance.
  • Maintain statistical reports of activities and enter them into the monthly reporting database.
  • Maintain confidential client files and ensure that all communications and concerns are handled in accordance with proper protocols.
  • Attend mandatory departmental in-service training and supervisory meetings.
  • Supervise and train volunteers as needed.
  • Arrange for pick-ups of donations and contact other social services agencies for interagency referrals and resource development.
  • Work within the budget, tracking grants, EFSP, and other expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain a strong volunteer base to support local services.
  • Track and report gift cards and in-kind donations.
Requirements
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in social services or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in office management and social services is required.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and organizational skills are essential.
  • A minimum of two years of work experience in social services, food pantry, casework, or a related field is required.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
  • Ability to work independently and function with minimal supervision, while also seeking and accepting supervision as needed.
  • Able to maintain ethical conduct and conduct business in accordance with organizational policy and mission.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter, and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Possess a driver's license and ability to drive a 12-passenger van.
