Overview of the Department:
The UNC School of Medicine is in search of a dedicated full-time faculty member to join the Division of Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine. This role encompasses responsibilities for both diagnostic and therapeutic interventions pertaining to pulmonary conditions, as well as educational duties and involvement in clinical research.
Role Summary:
We are looking for a qualified individual to fill a full-time faculty position specializing in Interventional Pulmonary Medicine. Key responsibilities include managing referrals for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for lung diseases, mentoring fellows, participating in the Medical Intensive Care Unit, and engaging in clinical research focused on cancer diagnostics and therapeutics, pleural disorders, and pioneering interventional techniques.
Essential Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an MD or DO degree, be board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, and Interventional Pulmonology, and have completed at least one year of fellowship training in interventional pulmonary medicine.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Preference will be given to those with formal training in clinical research methodologies or relevant experience in Graduate Medical Education.
