Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist

UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist to join our team at UNC Medical Center. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality cardiac ultrasound services to our patients.
Responsibilities- Deliver exceptional patient care, including pre-procedure and post-procedure care, emergency cardiac care, and assistance with post-procedure transport.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment daily, performing quality assurance monitoring and troubleshooting any issues.
- Generate high-quality ultrasound images of the heart and vascular structures, performing advanced cardiac ultrasound studies for patients with complex conditions.
- Conduct vascular studies and real-time readings/reports in the operating room for invasive and non-invasive vascular procedures.
- Perform studies for inpatient neonatal/NICU and pediatric patients.
- May provide staff training and education, serving as a subject matter expert and resource to Cardiovascular Sonographers.
- Monitor and record patient information, maintaining report storage and data systems, and compiling data for charge entry and reports.
- Prepare procedure rooms and equipment for daily use, responding to on-call needs for emergent procedures.
- Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field within 3 months of hire, or completion of a 12-month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire.
- Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one year from date of hire.
- One year minimum experience in an acute hospital setting.
