The Meter Elect A Specialist is responsible for testing, repairing, and installing various types of metering equipment, including primary voltage equipment, in accordance with company design standards and work methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test and repair metering equipment to ensure accurate and reliable operation
  • Install new metering equipment and perform necessary connections
  • Inspect and maintain existing metering equipment to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of metering circuits and associated equipment
  • Communicate with Electronic Technician, Laboratory Meter Electrician, and Service Planners on various metering issues
  • Work with personal computers and perform data entry and analysis
  • Perform revenue protection investigations on self-contained and CT rated metering circuits and facilities
  • Perform phase angle tests on various field metering installations
  • Perform dielectric tests on bucket trucks
  • Install and maintain various CT and CT/VT rated installations
  • Initial wiring of capacitor bank harnesses

Requirements

  • Must have completed apprentice training or equivalent program
  • Must be able to work in direct sunlight or at night
  • Must be able to climb ladders
