Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Wilson County Memorial Hospital District. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized patient care through the use of the nursing process and primary nursing principles.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatment and examination of patients.
  • Maintain awareness of patient comfort and safety needs.
  • Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors or physicians of patient conditions and reactions to medications, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Take vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess patient condition.
  • Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Document nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
  • Initiate patient education plans according to individualized patient needs, as prescribed by physicians and/or hospital policy.
  • Rotate among various clinical services, including obstetrics, surgery, orthopedics, outpatient, and admitting, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
Requirements
  • BSN preferred. Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) certification required. CPR, ACLS required & TNCC or ATCN and ENPC or PALS certifications preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of five years of medical/surgical clinical experience as a direct care provider. (Will consider three years with strong recommendations).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills.
  • Ability to care for multiple patients.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and in moving within patient care areas.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Willing to fulfill role as Charge RN.
