Responsibilities

  • Environmental Management
    • Support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.
    • Manage air permits, hazardous and industrial waste, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and spill prevention countermeasure and control inspections and management tasks.
  • Health and Safety
    • Develop and implement effective EHS programs and initiatives, focusing on injury prevention and risk reduction.
    • Conduct safety meetings, presentations, trainings, committees, shift stand-ups, and GEMBA walk-throughs with stakeholders.
    • Support the creation of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for production and engineering processes.
    • Lead hazard control and safeguard implementation, including vendor and project management.
    • Lead EHS event learning analyses and track/manage actionable improvements.
    • Rapidly respond to employee health or safety emergencies and activate emergency procedures.
    • Review and observe manufacturing work practices to identify EHS program hazards or requirements.
    • Submit, track, and manage EHS continuous improvement suggestions.
    • Address, document, and support safety concerns on the floor and in writing.
    • Provide EHS training and education to employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Support EHS team initiatives and responsibilities, including regulatory reports, inspections, or information requests; internal audits; emergency drills; management system improvements; and program development and assessments.
    • Stay current on emerging EHS regulations, trends, and best practices, and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, public health, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in EHS, preferably in boat, aerospace, or general manufacturing or industrial environments.

Preferred Skills and Additional Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify trends, and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting EHS training and education programs for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS software applications for data management and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
