Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Comprehensive Patient Care: Conduct thorough health histories, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Coordinate Care Services: Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care, including referrals to consulting physicians and other healthcare services.
- Prescribe Medications and Treatments: Order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies, and prescribe medications and treatments as needed, in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Develop and Implement Clinical Protocols: Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and guidelines to improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
- Provide Education and Support: Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies, and provide emotional support and guidance as needed.
- Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in peer review and performance improvement activities to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
Requirements:
- Education: Master's degree in Nursing as a Neonatal NP.
- Certification: Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) required.
- Licensure: Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of the patient population served.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
