A typical day may involve:

As the Information System Security Manager (ISSM), your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting requirements gathering and analysis to define security needs
  • Performing functional analysis to determine necessary tasks and their interconnections
  • Mapping current security frameworks to establish a basis for future initiatives
  • Collaborating with engineering teams on systems integration projects
  • Planning and coordinating the execution of IT security programs and policies
  • Analyzing user requirements to identify functional and cross-functional needs
  • Collecting and organizing technical information regarding the organization's mission objectives, existing security solutions, and ongoing programs in the multi-level security domain
  • Conducting functional allocation and identifying resources necessary for each task
  • Performing risk assessments and analyses
  • Facilitating government planning, coordination, and oversight of the implementation of information security services
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of future IT systems and associated security measures
  • Supporting Program Managers with administrative and technical oversight of specific programs
  • Resolving issues through integrated product teams and Technical Exchange Meetings (TEM)
  • Providing support for an organization's information assurance program
  • Overseeing contractor ISSOs on a daily basis
  • Guiding engineering staff in designing, developing, and implementing security solutions
  • Engaging with clients, IT personnel, and senior corporate leaders to define and meet Cybersecurity goals
  • Serving as the Program's ISSM
  • Assisting the Government in developing and implementing IT security services
  • Collaborating with engineers on systems integration and lifecycle requirements
  • Advising Program Managers on administrative and technical oversight matters related to portfolio programs
  • Facilitating administrative and technical oversight support for specific programs within the portfolio
  • Enabling the design and implementation of future IT systems and related security.

Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph Clearance
  • Compliance with DoD M with a minimum certification of IAM Level II is required.
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience in security authorization is required.
  • Experience in security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols, or encryption techniques is essential.
  • Familiarity with commercial security products, security authorization methods, incident management, and PKI services is necessary.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or IT Engineering is required. Alternatively, an additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
