Advanced Azure AI Developer

The Seattle Times is seeking an experienced Senior Azure AI Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and deploying advanced AI applications using Seattle Times proprietary data.
This is a hybrid role that requires working in our Seattle office and contributing to the development of innovative AI solutions. Our ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in AI application development, deployment, and management. They should have a strong understanding of generative AI, machine learning, and other AI techniques.
We are looking for a talented engineer who can lead the design, development, and deployment of AI applications across various business stakeholders and end users. This person should be proficient in programming languages such as Python or JavaScript/NodeJS and have experience with Azure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Optimize and fine-tune AI models for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in AI application development and deployment.
- Experience in developing usable domain-specific LLMs using commercially available LLMs like Azure AI.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or JavaScript/NodeJS.
- Strong understanding of generative AI, machine learning, and other AI techniques.
Salary and Benefits:$120,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
