The Role

You will contribute to leveraging the latest advances in machine learning and generative models to make our users smarter. As a Research Scientist at Read, you will develop methods for connecting relevant concepts across diverse content sources.

This hands-on research and development position requires advanced quantitative skills, hypothesis testing mindset, and interest in building scalable machine learning and generative applications. Our product is at the forefront of leveraging generative AI to make users more productive and smarter.

Responsibilities
  • Stay current on the latest advances in machine learning, large language models, retrieval augmented generation, and topic modeling.
  • Conduct research and prototype new features, working closely with product, design & engineering teams.
  • Present status and findings on a regular basis to the data science team.
  • Collect ground truth data to validate your research.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to implement and maintain methodologies.
  • Contribute to hiring and developing others.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, with a focus on computer vision, machine learning, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of machine and/or deep learning experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with applied statistical techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python is a must.
  • Signal processing (speech or vision) understanding.
  • Familiarity with git or equivalent version control system.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
