Job Summary
This role primarily operates in a medical office environment and is responsible for supporting the health and wellness center's clinical and clerical operations. The Medical Assistant assists the provider and performs appropriate tests and procedures, as well as administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing front desk/check-in processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Interviews patients and measures vital signs, records information in electronic medical records.
- Performs clinical procedures under the direction of the provider, including injections, EKGs, and routine U/A.
- Dispenses medications as directed by the physician and maintains Automated Eternal Defibrillator (AED) equipment.
- Prepares treatment rooms and patients for examination, cleans and sterilizes instruments as necessary.
- Completes administrative tasks, answers phones/phone triage, and schedules external appointments/referrals.
- Maintains clinic and patient records, inventories and orders medical supplies, and follows up with patients who miss appointments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from the American Academy of Medical Assistants or current registration with the American Registry of Medical Assistants.
- Current BLS certification through American Heart Association valid for at least 90 days after start date.
- Knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software, Word Processing software, and Electronic medical records.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with diverse backgrounds.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000, depending on location and experience. Additionally, Proactive MD offers excellent benefits, including paid time off, health insurance, and retirement plans.
