Job Summary

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our team of healthcare professionals at Waccamaw Dermatology, LLC. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for assisting with patient care, administrative tasks, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient preparation and procedures, including setting up exam rooms and preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
  • Take vital signs, record medical histories, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Assist with minor surgeries, including skin cancer removals, cyst excisions, and lipoma removals.
  • Perform intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, as well as numbing injections.
  • Maintain medical terminology knowledge, particularly in the field of dermatology.
  • Respond to patient inquiries, including phone calls and electronic messages.
  • Communicate aftercare instructions to patients and ensure they understand their treatment plans.
  • Assist with ordering and inventory of medical supplies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant experience or equivalent in a high-volume medical setting.
  • Completion of a technical/vocational training school program with CMA, AAMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
  • Previous experience scribing in the room for a provider.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, or BLS certification.
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to move from one location to another within and outside of the building.
  • Ability to work 8-10+ hour shifts and be available for overtime when necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

On-site presence required and reliable transportation is a must.
