Position Overview:
The City of Hopkinsville is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Advanced Life Support Technician. This position is integral to our emergency response team, providing essential medical assistance during critical situations.
Key Responsibilities:
As a member of our ambulance response unit, you will be responsible for:
- Performing basic life support duties and delivering high-quality patient care.
- Responding promptly to emergency calls and transporting patients to medical facilities.
- Administering first aid and taking vital signs under the guidance of a Medical Director or Paramedic.
- Maintaining the ambulance and ensuring all equipment is in optimal condition.
- Documenting patient information accurately and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
- Current CPR certification and other relevant training.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to operate emergency vehicles safely.
- Physical capability to lift and move patients and equipment weighing over 100 lbs.
Working Conditions:
This role involves exposure to high-risk situations and requires physical stamina and agility. Technicians must be able to perform under pressure and maintain professionalism in challenging environments.
