Job Title: Lead DevOps Engineer

Work Arrangement: Remote

As the Lead DevOps Engineer/Upskilling Partner, you will:

1. Develop and Implement DevOps Strategy: You will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive DevOps strategy, focusing on automating CI/CD pipelines, establishing best practices, and leading development teams through migrations.

2. Application Migration: You will lead the migration of applications from TFS/ADO to GitHub, utilizing your expertise in GitHub Actions, GitHub Enterprise, and Azure DevOps.

3. DevOps Automation & Optimization: You will design and implement scalable, automated solutions for builds, testing, and deployments, as well as optimize branching, merging, and release processes.

4. Mentorship & Technical Guidance: You will mentor and coach developers, leading technical debates, and providing guidance on best practices for development, security, and process automation.

5. Security and Code Quality: You will integrate security scanning tools into the development pipeline, such as SAST, SCA, and GitHub Advanced Security, and lead efforts to improve code quality through automated tests, code reviews, and continuous integration practices.

6. Cloud and Infrastructure Support: You will have experience with cloud providers, infrastructure as code (IaC), and setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines from scratch.

Key DevOps Initiatives:

1. Establishing New CI/CD Pipelines: You will be responsible for setting up standards for automated processes and improving code quality and security.

2. Testing, Development, and Technical Debt: You will work with developers to identify and mitigate technical debt, create and enforce new code review standards, and improve test-driven development (TDD) practices.

Requirements:

1. C#, ASP.NET, MVC,.NET Core: Strong experience in the Microsoft technology stack is required, with a focus on DevOps.

2. Security Practices: You will implement security practices like static code analysis and encryption, with experience in security tools and maintaining compliance with standards.

3. TFS, Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions: A deep understanding of TFS, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and CI/CD tools is required, with experience in migrating from TFS/ADO to GitHub.

4. Test Automation & TDD: You will implement automated testing, improve test coverage, and ensure reliability through unit and integration tests.

5. T-SQL and MS SQL: Strong skills in query tuning and database optimization and automation are required.

6. Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Experience in mentoring and leading developers is crucial, with a focus on establishing and enforcing code review standards and guiding development practices.

7. Code Quality & Security Scanning Tools: Familiarity with tools such as GitHub Advanced Security, Dependabot, and Snyk will help you integrate security and code quality into the pipeline.

8. Code Branching, Merging, and Release Optimization: Experience in optimizing the code branching and release management processes is essential.
