Position Overview

The Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the protection of hotel guests, employees, and property through vigilant monitoring and proactive measures. This role involves reporting any suspicious or unsafe activities to management and following established protocols to maintain a safe atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts thorough patrols of the hotel premises, including guest areas and back-of-house facilities, to identify and address safety concerns.
  • Understands and implements all Emergency Response Procedures, ensuring readiness for any situation.
  • Controls access to employee entrances, verifying that only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
  • Maintains a log for visitor sign-ins and issues temporary passes as necessary.
  • Inspects packages entering and exiting the facility, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
  • Confirms that all materials leaving the property are accompanied by the appropriate documentation.
  • Documents all security-related incidents and actions taken in detailed reports.
  • Monitors surveillance systems and communication devices to ensure continuous oversight.
  • Engages with guests and staff in a courteous manner, promoting a welcoming environment.
  • Responds to incidents involving guests or employees, gathering necessary information and securing areas as needed.
  • Completes daily reports and assists with various departmental tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a security role, preferably within a hospitality setting.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Familiarity with hotel operations is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
