Job Title: Surgical Technician 2 Certified

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Surgical Technician 2 to join our team at Methodist Health System.

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technician 2 Certified will collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and obtain instrumentation and supplies for procedures.
  • Pass instruments to surgeons and assistants during procedures.
  • Assist with terminal cleaning of rooms and preparation for the next case.
  • Begin cleaning up back tables and preparing instruments for terminal cleaning and sterilization.
  • Place instruments back in trays for transport to the Sterilization Department.
  • Responsible for knowing and adhering to all policies and procedures, including count policy, universal protocol, and labeling of medications.
  • Work with students and inexperienced staff on correct methods for passing and retrieving instruments during surgical procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent.
  • Graduate of a certified Surgical Technologist program, military trained, or Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certified.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
  • Must have advanced competencies in a minimum of 3 specialties (specialties to be determined by each hospital).
