Methodist Health System is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technician 2 Certified to join our team. As a Surgical Technician 2 Certified, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:
* Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and obtain instrumentation and supplies as needed. * Pass instruments to the surgeon and assistant during procedures. * Assist with terminal cleaning of the room and preparation for the next case. * Begin cleaning up the back table and preparing instruments for terminal cleaning and sterilization as the circulator prepares the patient to leave the room. * Place instruments back in the tray for transport to the Sterilization Department. * Responsible for knowing and adhering to all policies and procedures, including count policy, universal protocol, and labeling of medications. * Work with students and inexperienced staff on correct methods for passing and retrieving instruments during surgical procedures.
Requirements:
* High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent. * Graduate of a certified Surgical Technologist program, military trained, or Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology preferred. * Basic Life Support certified. * Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required. * Must have advanced competencies in a minimum of 3 specialties (specialties to be determined by each hospital).
