Position Overview
The Electromechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling and repairing electro-mechanical, computer-controlled machinery, either partially or fully, in a workshop or on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, diagrams, operation or process sheets, and verbal instructions to assemble components, assemblies, and complete machines.
• Utilize a variety of hand and power tools during the assembly process.
• Secure components together using bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners, and perform basic soldering tasks.
• Remove minor amounts of metal using hand files and scrapers to eliminate burrs and ensure a proper fit between parts.
• Repair components to meet specifications for use in machine assemblies, and operate components, assemblies, and machines for testing, quality control, and calibration.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing practices, and operational efficiency efforts.
• Assist in the construction of tools, fixtures, and other methods to enhance accuracy and efficiency in work processes.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Electromechanical Assembly Technician position will possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED);
- One to three years of relevant experience in electro-mechanical assembly or repair, or a combination of education and experience;
- The ability to read and understand instructions, blueprints, drawings, and process sheets;
- Effective communication skills to interact with fellow assemblers, supervisors, engineering staff, and other personnel;
- Proficiency in English for reading and communication purposes;
- Mathematical skills, including the ability to perform basic calculations and interpret graphs;
- Strong reasoning skills to follow instructions in various formats;
- Problem-solving abilities related to machine assembly challenges.
• The role may involve repetitive tasks and requires manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with Volt/Ohm meters and willingness to learn to use other necessary instruments.
• Regular use of hands for handling objects, tools, or controls, along with reaching with hands and arms.
• Frequent standing for extended periods, walking, sitting, and communicating.
• Ability to lift and/or move components and assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds.
This position is situated in a manufacturing environment and routinely involves the use of tools and electrical components.
Position Type and Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt role. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with a total of 40 hours per week, including a thirty-minute unpaid lunch break.

Compensation:
Starting pay is $24.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
