We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Research Associate to join our team at BCforward. As a key member of our scientific team, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory research and experiments, maintaining testing organisms, and ensuring the quality and integrity of our research data.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory research and experiments, including maintenance of testing organisms such as zebrafish and aquatic invertebrates.
- Prepare reagents, conduct assays, and perform lab activities in the field of zebrafish culture maintenance, breeding, and production.
- Under the supervision of senior scientists, weigh materials, prepare reagents, and conduct production assays using lab instruments and automation systems.
- Ensure successful testing by following operating instructions and maintaining supplies.
- Assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment in preparation for specific tasks.
- Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control.
- Attend and participate in team and department meetings.
- A minimum of a high school degree, with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline preferred.
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment and deliver against challenging projects and timelines.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Understanding of basic principles and techniques in general plant/animal biology and aseptic culturing techniques is desirable.
- Experience with aquatic organisms and/or terrestrial invertebrates is a plus.
- Experience with laboratory automation is a plus.
