We are seeking a PRN Radiation Therapist at LifePoint Health. This is a full-time opportunity to join our team in the field of Radiation Oncology.

Estimated salary range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning radiation therapy treatment, localizing target volumes, constructing custom blocks, and calculating radiation doses.

You will also be responsible for accurately delivering prescribed courses of radiation therapy treatment, ensuring correct treatment parameters, and maintaining visual and audible communication during treatment.

A key aspect of this role is communicating verbally and in writing with patients regarding treatment reactions, skincare, and diet restrictions.

  • Plan radiation therapy treatment, including localization of target volume, construction of custom blocks, and calculation of radiation dose.
  • Accurately deliver prescribed courses of radiation therapy treatment, ensuring correct treatment parameters and maintaining visual and audible communication during treatment.
  • Communicate necessary verbal and written instructions regarding treatment reactions, skincare, and diet restrictions to patients.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A completion of ARRT-approved course in Radiation Therapy.
  • Current Certification by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in stressful environments and take appropriate action.
  • Proficiency in planning and delivering radiation therapy.
  • Knowledge of radiological equipment and computer skills.
Physical Demands

This role requires:

  • A full range of motion of upper and lower extremities.
  • Ability to move and/or lift patients and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Pushing equipment over 100 pounds.
  • Dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Standing and/or walking for extensive periods.
  • Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Potential exposure to communicable disease and/or body fluid requiring body substance isolation precautions.
Additional Requirements

Preferred candidates will have one year of Radiation Oncology experience and membership in local, state, and professional organizations.
