Occupational Therapist Job Description

At JoyBridge Kids, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping children with autism and other developmental disorders achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to children aged 2-12 years, focusing on fine and gross motor skill development, visual-motor development, sensory processing, and executive functioning skills.
  • Administer occupational therapy assessments to determine a child's level of functioning and develop individualized treatment plans to support daily living activities.
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team, including BCBAs, RBTs, and SLPs, to design skill acquisition programs that maximize sensory processing, self-care, and fine and gross motor development.
  • Develop strong relationships with learners and families to educate them on skills and techniques to carryover into the home setting, promoting increased participation in daily living activities.
  • Participate in regular caregiver trainings and maintain accurate documentation, including billing records, caseload activities, and progress reports.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in occupational therapy from an accredited university.
  • OTR credentials and valid state license required.
  • Experience with sensory processing and integration, as well as working with children with autism and other comorbidities, is preferred.
  • Feeding therapy experience is also a plus.
  • Must demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards learners and families.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Willingness to lead, coach, and collaborate with a positive attitude, even in times of stress.
