We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Coordinator to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of clerical duties to ensure the efficient functioning of the department, including physician's billing and collection functions, scheduling appointments, and compiling statistical reports.
- Schedule appointments for patients within multiple ancillary departments and services, and doctors' offices.
- Lead and guide Patient Service Assistant I in the performance of duties.
- Process and reconcile insurance claim forms and payments, and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly records of fees collected.
- Verify insurance coverage and other related data with third-party carriers, and process credit balance reports and pre-collection notices.
- Collect all monies due from patients at the time of service, and prepare payment journals and/or make bank deposits for all collections.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years related experience required.
- Knowledge of physician's billing, including third-party billing, medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-9 coding required.
- Data entry skills (80 keystrokes per minute) required.
The salary range for this position is $27.56-$29.93/hour. Northwell Health is an equal employment opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
