Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Coordinator to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties to ensure the efficient functioning of the department, including physician's billing and collection functions, scheduling appointments, and compiling statistical reports.
  • Schedule appointments for patients within multiple ancillary departments and services, and doctors' offices.
  • Lead and guide Patient Service Assistant I in the performance of duties.
  • Process and reconcile insurance claim forms and payments, and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly records of fees collected.
  • Verify insurance coverage and other related data with third-party carriers, and process credit balance reports and pre-collection notices.
  • Collect all monies due from patients at the time of service, and prepare payment journals and/or make bank deposits for all collections.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience required.
  • Knowledge of physician's billing, including third-party billing, medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-9 coding required.
  • Data entry skills (80 keystrokes per minute) required.
