Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. This is a 24-hour shift position in the 5 West department, working Monday through Friday, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver and manage patient care from admission to discharge, tailored to the developmental age of the patient population.
  • Perform patient assessments and reassessments according to standard procedure.
  • Develop and coordinate individual patient care plans, including discharge planning.
  • Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care within the assigned clinical setting.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
  • Document patient care according to standard procedure.
  • Develop, implement, and document education plans for patients, families, and significant others.
  • Ensure quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other healthcare providers.
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, therapies, and operate equipment according to policy and procedure.
  • Assist physicians with treatment and procedures as required or directed.
  • Participate in and support Nursing Governance activities.
  • Assume responsibility for professional growth and assist in education and development of staff.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrate the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
Requirements
  • Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
  • BLS is a requirement for every RN, unless advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit-specific certifications and competencies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is highly preferred.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

This position requires work indoors in a patient care environment, with a medium work level.
