Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Professional to join our team at State Hospital South in Blackfoot, Idaho. This role involves providing personalized care and support to patients with serious mental illnesses.
About the Role:
This is an ongoing announcement, which means we may or may not have an opening at the time of application. However, applicants who pass the exam will be placed on a referral list for potential future openings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care for patients
- Administer group and individual services in psychosocial treatment, behavioral management, record keeping, environmental management, and patient care
- Maintain the safety of patients/residents, including emergency response situations such as fire evacuations
- Interact with patients/residents to encourage appropriate behavior and manage aggressive behavior
- Develop social skills training in areas like social interaction, leisure time activities, planning, decision making, and money management
- Record and report vital signs, sleep patterns, and diet patterns
- Identify and report changes in patients'/residents' behavior and health
- Maintain patients'/residents' progress records
Requirements:
- Some knowledge of human services, including psychology, nursing, or social work (typically gained through college courses or relevant work experience)
- Experience with behavior management for individuals diagnosed with mental illness and developmental disabilities (usually acquired through education or work experience)
- Possession of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate

Compensation:
The estimated annual salary for this position is $38,830-$40,234, based on a hourly rate of $19.04. Please note that this figure is subject to change and does not include additional forms of compensation.
