About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Professional to join our team as a Psychiatric Technician at State Hospital South (SHS) in Blackfoot, Idaho. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with serious mental illnesses.

Job Summary

The Psychiatric Technician provides personal care and support services to patients, including providing group and individual services in psychosocial treatment, disturbed behavior management, record keeping, environmental management, and patient care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care for patients, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Assist patients with daily activities, such as toileting and mobility.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and interactions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate and have experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses. You should also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records.
