Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Propulsion Design Engineer to join our team at Virgin Galactic. As a key member of our propulsion team, you will be responsible for designing, modeling, and analyzing engineering solutions for components and subsystems in our hybrid propulsion system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop 3D CAD models and 2D engineering definitions for detail parts, assemblies, and installations
  • Establish manufacturing tolerances for production of components
  • Develop and document system requirements and interface constraints for components
  • Review, update, and compile engineering analytical definitions
  • Perform preliminary stress analysis
  • Support review of manufacturing plans and procedures to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure component performance in flight environments
  • Support verification activities to ensure that the propulsion system meets requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 8 years relevant industry experience
  • Proficient with CATIA V5 and 3D Experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods for various materials
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and configuration management processes
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

We offer a competitive salary range of $105,700.00–$161,000.00, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
