Animal Research Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Animal Research Technician to join our team at Astrix Technology in Dallas, TX. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for animal husbandry and euthanasia for preclinical cancer treatment research.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in animal husbandry and a strong understanding of animal care and handling. Your duties will include:
- Monitoring, handling, and caring for research animals, including providing feed, water, health checks, and cage changes.
- Maintaining study records and preclinical research activity on each research animal.
- Animal healthcare, preparation, and follow-up, including monitoring, tagging, weighing, and caliper measurements.
- Assisting with the receipt, stocking, and maintenance of supply inventories.
- Clean room facility maintenance and experiment preparation.
- Handling radioactive materials.
To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma and 2-3 years of related work experience. An Associate's degree with 1-2 years of experience is preferred. Animal husbandry/vivarium experience with smaller animals (mice/rodents) is also highly desirable.
