Job Summary:
Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a vital role in coordinating and performing diagnostic medical imaging procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and medical imaging equipment. This position requires adherence to professional and departmental protocols to provide high-quality diagnostic images for patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Ensure radiation safety and proper waste disposal by following Federal, State, and Hospital policies.
- Document daily calibrations, dose calibrator accuracy checks, and other essential tasks.
- Practice safe handling of radio nuclides and radiation safety procedures at all times.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by physicians, adhering to established procedures.
- Perform periodic quality control tests and document according to Hospital policies.
- Demonstrate adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Health.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent required.
- 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting required.
- 2 years of experience in a clinical Radiology setting preferred.
- Current State Licensure required.
- Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist registration from ARRT or NMTCB required.
