Job Title: Operator Technician

At Trivium Packaging, we are seeking a skilled Operator Technician to join our team. As an Operator Technician, you will play a critical role in the high-speed manufacturing of metal food packaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain high-speed manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient production and high-quality products.
  • Perform daily safety checks to ensure a safe working environment and correct hazards.
  • Conduct quality control activities and document results to meet customer expectations.
  • Perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in the installation, replacement, and mechanical operational improvements of equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence activities to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
  • Support inventory management activities, including material receipt, storage, and maintenance.
  • Operate forklifts and perform material movements as assigned.
  • Process hold material, including sorting and inspection.
  • Perform general housekeeping and 5S activities in assigned areas.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably with forklift and material handling experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency, as verified through standardized testing.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, feel, and talk or hear. The role requires frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, as well as color recognition. Good hand-eye coordination is necessary.

Work Environment:

This role requires working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to heights. The typical shift worked is 8 or 12 hours, with an average of 40 hours per week. The role requires standing 90% of the time and sitting 10% of the time.
