Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team at a correctional facility in Tacoma, WA. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing patient-focused healthcare services and supporting the dental department.
Responsibilities- Coordinate dental services and assist the dentist with patient care, instruments, supplies, documentation, and support the function of the dental department.
- Assist in documentation and maintenance of all patient dental records.
- Assist in triaging and scheduling of all dental sick call requests.
- Prepare the clinic with appropriate instruments and materials for scheduled visits.
- Assist the dentist during treatment by providing instruments, materials, retraction, or suction.
- Mix and fabricate all restorative materials.
- Ensure all dental equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
- Sterilize and disinfect equipment and tools.
- Develop all routine radiographs.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Maintain the proper training and unrestricted certification as a Dental Assistant, with 1 year of dental experience in healthcare preferred.
- A current CPR card.
