Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Vertis Therapy in Michigan City, IN. As a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and therapist-owned company that prioritizes quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy treatments to patients under the clinical supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report patient conditions, reactions, and responses related to treatment.
  • Maintain daily records of treatments and document progress notes on patients.
  • Assist with the care of the Occupational Therapy department and equipment.
  • Participate in in-service programs and other meetings as assigned by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Stay up-to-date with continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical currency.
  • Comply with Vertis Therapy Management Policies and Procedures, State, Federal, and Professional Organization regulatory and professional standards and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Associate of Science degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Current license or eligibility for license under statutes in the state of practice.
  • Prefer minimum one (1) year rehabilitation experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility.
  • Prefer active membership in the state and national American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adequate computer skills to complete required job duties and computerized documentation.
