Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tax Clerk to join our team at ADM. As a Tax Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting with various tax-related tasks, including filing, record-keeping, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with miscellaneous state filings, including annual reports and business licenses.
  • Maintain a calendar for state tax filings and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Analyze and complete necessary filing information, including tax returns and payments.
  • Prepare and submit online or mailed filings with corresponding payment requests.
  • Process and mail paper filings certified mail and process corresponding manual check requests.
  • Maintain state estimate and extension calendars.
  • Process tax return, quarterly estimate, audit, and notice payments, and assist with payment tracking.
  • Assist with compiling documents for tax audits.
  • Assist with investigating notices received from taxing jurisdictions.
  • Monitor tax jurisdiction correspondence, web pages, and emails.
  • Analyze taxing jurisdiction questions and correspondence, and research validity and assist with responses.
  • Discuss notices with taxing jurisdictions and maintain records retention for the ADM NA tax group.
  • Complete monthly sales by state and accruals spreadsheets.
  • Assist with customer and vendor W-9 requests.
  • Scan and electronically file/organize notices, returns, and other documents.
  • Assist the ADM tax team with various special projects.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving tasks, duties, and projects.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • General computer skills and willingness to learn new computer applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Team player mentality with good communication skills.
