Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our team at VCU Health. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT procedures, including imaging exams and interventional procedures, utilizing CT scanners and associated technology.
  • Assist licensed independent practitioners (LIPs) with specialized interventional CT procedures and apply appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed.
  • Document pertinent exam information in the medical record and maintain archival storage of imaging exams and associated documents.
  • Verify informed consent and assume responsibility for patient needs before, during, and after procedures.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
  • Provide patient education related to imaging procedures and educate, mentor, and oversee students and other learners in the Radiology environment.
  • Participate in ongoing quality assurance activities and maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.
Requirements
  • Registry by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT-R) or by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) and ARRT-CT.
  • Current Certification by ARRT or NMTCB and ARRT-CT.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
  • 1-3 years of previous CT Technologist work experience.
  • Preferred: Previous work experience in an academic medical center environment and 3+ years of CT experience.
Working Conditions

CT Technologists are considered "Essential Employees" who may be required to report to work in accordance with the VCUHS Policy. Must have immediate access to a home phone or cell phone. Weekend only shifts.

Physical Requirements

Physical: Lifting 20-50 lbs. Other: Exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances.
