Job Summary and QualificationsThe role involves providing clinical expertise in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the efficient flow of patients, including triage, screening, preparation for examination, and providing general nursing care.
- Instructing patients and their families on medication and treatment protocols.
- Maintaining and reviewing patient records, including posting test results and examination findings.
- Administering medications according to physician directives.
Requirements:
- Must hold a valid Florida Registered Nurse license in accordance with state regulations or possess appropriate compact licensure. If a compact license is held, an active Florida RN license is required within 60 days of hire.
- A Nursing Diploma or ASN is required; a BSN is preferred.
- Prior experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.
- Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and/or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certifications are required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- Current NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification is required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- Strong critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal directives.
