Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a therapeutic program that meets the spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of our residents.
  • Assess resident characteristics and plan program content in conjunction with other departments.
  • Monitor daily functioning of the neighborhood to ensure continuity and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop and conduct in-service training and education on memory care programs and activities.
  • Establish and maintain a sense of teamwork through effective communication and team meetings.
  • Participate in support groups and assess educational needs of staff regarding program and dementia-specific knowledge.
  • Market the program through community involvement and participation in local Alzheimer's associations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation that complies with state regulations and community policy.
Requirements:
  • LPN licensure required.
  • Experience working with Alzheimer's and other dementia individuals.
  • Two years of previous experience in programming, including planning activities and working with dementia residents in an assisted living environment.
  • Background in nursing and providing one-on-one care for seniors.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
