Job Summary:
As an MRI Technologist, you will perform magnetic resonance imaging scans as directed by the radiologist. Your role involves effective communication with physicians and other healthcare personnel to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Duties:
    Screen patients prior to MRI scanning, ensuring all equipment is MRI compatible and prioritizing patient safety. Accurately position patients for scans, adhering to protocols, and manage contrast administration safely. Maintain a clean and stocked environment while responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Customer Service:
    Engage with patients to explain procedures and gather clinical history. Ensure patients are free of any contraindications for MRI and communicate any delays effectively. Promote patient education and participate in quality assurance activities.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    Validate requisitions, document exam activities, and manage charges appropriately. Operate the PACS system for study verification and maintain compliance with accreditation standards.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
This position does not include management responsibilities and reports to a supervisor or manager.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate's degree with completion of an accredited radiology program.
  • One year of experience in diagnostic radiology; enrollment in MRI preferred.

Required Certifications:
  • Certification as an MRI Technologist (ARMIT or ARRT).
  • Certification from the South Carolina Radiology Quality Standards Association (SCRSQA).
  • Current AHA/BLS cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
