Aveanna Healthcare Job OpportunityAveanna Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and skilled Respite Care Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide non-medical personal care, assistance, and companionship to clients who require supervision due to developmental disabilities.
About the Role:
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including grooming, hygiene, meal preparation, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide hands-on and/or stand-by assistance with client transfers and safe ambulation, as needed.
- Engage clients in conversations, read newspapers or books, play memory games, complete puzzles, and entertain them.
- FOLLOW parental instructions to work and deal with clients' behavioral needs, including redirection, avoidance, withdrawal, and aggression.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies related to all areas of privacy and confidentiality, including HIPAA laws.
Requirements:
- Physical and mental ability to perform essential functions of the position, including but not limited to, safely stooping and bending, lifting, turning, and transferring weight up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proper hygiene and appropriate dress at all times.
- Possess basic math, reading, and writing skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification as required by program.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.
- Must be able to read 12-point or larger type.
- Must be able to hear and speak in a manner understood by most people.
- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments that may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.
Salary Information:
The estimated salary for this position is $20.00 - $21.00 per hour, based on location and experience. Benefits include 401(k) with match, health, dental, and vision benefits for eligible employees, paid sick time, and more.
