Clinical Psychologist

The Clinical Psychologist will provide comprehensive psychological services to children aged 0-8, including evaluation, scoring, and interpretation of psychological testing. The successful candidate will develop recommendations for treatment and link children to education and therapeutic services. Key responsibilities include counseling families regarding assessment findings and referrals, test administration based on age, culture, and developmental level, and documentation of patient care in the clinical record according to regulatory agency guidelines.
Specialized Knowledge:
The Clinical Psychologist will possess a deep understanding of the basic psychological needs of children and adolescents, as well as the influence of family and social contexts on socio-emotional adjustment, cognitive development, behavioral adaptation, and health status. The successful candidate will have expertise in the study, assessment, and treatment of a wide range of interrelated biological, psychological, and social problems experienced by children and adolescents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychological services to children aged 0-8, including evaluation, scoring, and interpretation of psychological testing.
- Develop recommendations for treatment and link children to education and therapeutic services.
- Counsel families regarding assessment findings and referrals.
- Administer tests based on age, culture, and developmental level.
- Document patient care in the clinical record according to regulatory agency guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) approved program in clinical psychology required.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in mental health providing direct clinical services to children, including individuals with serious/chronic mental illness, required.
- Experience with DSM-5 Diagnostic Criteria, diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) preferred.
- Experience with DC 0-5 diagnostic criteria preferred.
- Current Hawaii License in Good Standing or on track to pursue licensure in the state of Hawaii.
- Specialized training in the assessment and treatment of children preferred.
- Experience working with a variety of children's mental health concerns preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
