Maintenance Position Overview

The Maintenance position at Pediatrix is a vital role that requires a variety of manual labor skills to assist with the upkeep of park grounds, equipment, and rental facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up tables and chairs according to floor plans
  • Perform occasional grounds keeping duties, including removing trash and mowing/trimming grass as needed
  • Conduct various landscape maintenance tasks, such as weeding, mulching, edging, and raking
  • Operate small engine equipment, including chain saws, backpack blowers, and line trimmers
  • Establish and maintain plant beds, plant flowers, bulbs, shrubs, and trees
  • Pick up litter and debris
  • Perform facility maintenance, including minor repairs, replacing light bulbs, and preparing for special events
  • Operate park vehicles, including pickup trucks, 4-wheel motorcycles, dump trucks, and garbage trucks
  • Clean and organize maintenance supplies
  • Clean restrooms and rental facilities
  • Prepare and load equipment and tools for use and/or transportation
  • Run errands to retrieve and/or deliver parts, etc.
  • Perform manual labor and related work as required
  • Assist with public relations by handling visitor inquiries and providing information and assistance
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service training
  • Report unsafe conditions to the Facility and Events Sales Manager
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Park Management or Supervisor on Duty
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to operate small engine equipment properly and safely
  • Ability to operate a variety of vehicles with standard transmissions
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to make minor repairs to facilities or equipment
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn park maintenance procedures and equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public
  • Ability to learn the operation of the facility
  • Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor in a variety of weather conditions
  • Availability to work a variable work schedule, which may include early and late hours, most weekends during the event season, and holidays
  • Ability to understand and follow oral instructions
  • Ability to perform basic computer tasks
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver's license, with a safe driving record
  • Required to purchase and wear a standard uniform
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position
