We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at SSM Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy operations and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to our patients.
Responsibilities- Collect and document patient medication histories, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with the medication reconciliation process, working closely with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Investigate discrepancies in medication histories and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, responding to questions and concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure seamless medication delivery and minimize errors.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of process improvements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of experience in a pharmacy setting preferred.
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) or equivalent registration in the state of employment.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Certified Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT/CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, with a variable shift schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction.
