Job Responsibilities and QualificationsGI nurses collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care from admission through discharge, focusing on quality outcomes, patient safety, and high satisfaction levels.
Unit Overview:
- One GI room (with plans for expansion); managing an average of 5-9 patients daily.
- No on-call requirements.
- A new physician is joining the team to support continued growth.
- Strong communication and teamwork are emphasized within the clinic, with low turnover rates.
Key Responsibilities:
- The RN will assist in the Pain Clinic and GI lab procedural areas, including patient check-ins, gathering medical histories, assisting with procedures, and providing follow-up instructions.
- Responsibilities also include aiding in recovery from GI procedures, with some patients potentially requiring intubation, and starting IVs as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri.
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- BLS certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
- ACLS certification required within six months of hire.
