Position Overview

This role is designed for a Program Analyst or Engineer to provide support to the FAA's Policy and Performance division. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating safety risk evaluations, conducting Independent Operational Assessments, and performing Audits and Evaluations, along with comprehensive safety analyses.

The individual will also be responsible for the formulation of risk management protocols and procedures, delivering training sessions, and developing assessment strategies, plans, procedures, and checklists, as well as supporting the execution of these tasks.

The ideal applicant is a proficient writer, possesses strong analytical skills, is self-driven, and can operate autonomously in support of the Policy and Performance division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting Test & Evaluation activities.
  • Verification and/or validation of requirements.
  • Preparing checklists, Test Plans, Procedures, and Test Reports.
  • Developing schedules and program strategies.
  • Performing data analysis and reduction on extensive datasets.
  • Assisting teams engaged in safety analyses by documenting discussions, recording actions, drafting safety documentation, and analyzing data.
  • Understanding and conveying the risk management policy and process, and providing training to others.
  • Offering expertise in the application of safety risk management policies; contributing to efforts aimed at enhancing policies and processes.
  • Providing project support to monitor tasks, objectives, and progress.
  • Executing additional duties as assigned to fulfill contract, organizational, and departmental objectives.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.
    • Familiarity with FAA systems, procedures, and air traffic control.
    • Expertise in safety, safety risk management, and system testing and evaluation.
  • Background Investigation Requirement:
    • Must successfully pass a Federal background investigation.
  • Skills & Technologies:
    • Ability to think conceptually and work independently.
    • Strong analytical and writing capabilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project).
