Sushi artisans are tasked with crafting exquisite sushi dishes for patrons while upholding the standards of Drunken Fish recipes and ensuring a pristine kitchen environment. They will also oversee the proper handling and storage of these premium ingredients.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the management team and kitchen staff
- Guarantee the meticulous preparation, timeliness, freshness, and quality of all food items, adhering to the highest culinary standards
- Adhere to recipes, accurately measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients as outlined in the training manual and preparation sheets
- Prepare raw fish with precision and care
- Prepare sushi rice to achieve the desired texture and consistency
- Monitor inventory levels and manage restocking or preparation tasks promptly
- Implement hygiene protocols and safe food handling practices
- Handle and store all ingredients and food items correctly
- Maintain a spotless kitchen environment
- Present dishes with artistic plating, garnishing, and arrangement
- Assist with any additional tasks as needed
- Coordinate food preparation for large catering events, both onsite and offsite
- Support catering and delivery operations offsite
- Ensure all opening and closing procedures are executed efficiently
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests
- Participate in marketing events, such as trade shows and charity functions, as required
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations as outlined by management and the Employee Handbook
- In-depth knowledge of culinary principles and standards
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality assurance
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor, instilling this standard in team members
- Ability to follow through on assigned tasks and adapt quickly to new responsibilities, including those related to other brands within the organization
- Remain composed in high-pressure situations and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
- Follow verbal instructions and provide clear guidance to others
- Exhibit multitasking abilities and effective time management skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Capable of standing for extended periods and maintaining alertness
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as necessary
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- High energy and enthusiasm for the culinary industry
- Minimum of 2 years of professional kitchen experience preferred, with sushi experience being advantageous
- Reliable transportation required
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including on-call shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays
