Forest Engineer/Senior Forester

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forest Engineer/Senior Forester to join our team at Manulife and John Hancock. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and supervising road and stream crossing projects, as well as overseeing timber harvest operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Participate in the management of transportation systems, harvest operations, and land management activities to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Provide technical engineering expertise and oversight to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Design and implement road and stream crossing projects, as well as timber harvest operations, to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Administer road construction, maintenance, and harvest contracts to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects.
- Develop and implement annual property budgets and forecasts to ensure effective financial management.
- Ensure compliance with stewardship and SFI standards to maintain a high level of environmental responsibility.
- Provide leadership and support to team members to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Forest Engineering, Forest Management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a leadership or management role.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and ArcGIS.
- Ability to work independently and travel to remote locations as required.
